Overview
ART-YD-016 is a dry yeast metabolite complex manufactured from selected yeast raw material and processed for use as a nutrient component in microbial fermentation media. It is intended for bacteria, yeast, and fungal culture systems where formulators need a balanced source of organic nitrogen, free amino nitrogen, peptides, B-group vitamins, nucleotides, trace minerals, and yeast-associated growth factors. It can be evaluated as a partial or complete replacement for individual nutrient additions in defined or semi-defined media, depending on organism and process requirements.
Typical specification targets include light tan to brown free-flowing powder, moisture not more than 6.0%, total nitrogen 8.0-12.0%, protein equivalent 50-70%, ash 8.0-15.0%, pH 5.0-7.0 in 2% solution, and particle size 80 mesh pass not less than 90%. Microbiological limits and heavy metal parameters are controlled by lot and reported on the certificate of analysis. For adjacent yeast-derived inputs, review the yeast derivatives for bio applications category or contact ArtemisYeast for formulation guidance.
Applications
- Microbial fermentation: nutrient base for bacterial, yeast, and filamentous fungal processes requiring accessible amino acids, peptides, vitamins, and mineral cofactors.
- Industrial biotechnology: media component for enzyme, organic acid, amino acid, metabolite, and biomass production workflows where lot consistency and clean dissolution are procurement priorities.
- R&D and scale-up: useful in shake-flask screening, bench bioreactors, pilot fermenters, and production vessels when teams need a single yeast-derived nutrient stream with trace nutrient complexity.
- Cell culture media development: suitable for evaluation in non-clinical bioprocess development where yeast-derived nutrients are accepted by the customer’s quality system and formulation strategy.
- Process optimization: can be titrated with carbon source, inorganic salts, antifoam strategy, and pH control to adjust growth rate, metabolite output, and fermentation robustness.
Storage and Handling
Store ART-YD-016 in the original sealed 20 kg multi-wall sack in a cool, dry, ventilated warehouse, away from direct sunlight, moisture, volatile chemicals, and strong odors. Recommended storage is 5-25°C with relative humidity below 65%. Under unopened, recommended conditions, typical shelf life is 24 months from manufacture, subject to confirmation on the lot document. After opening, reseal promptly or transfer to a clean, dry, closed container to reduce moisture uptake and caking.
The powder should be handled with standard food and bioprocess ingredient controls, including dust minimization, local ventilation where needed, and clean scoops or automated dosing equipment. For best dispersion, add gradually to agitated water or base medium and mix until fully hydrated before sterilization or filtration steps selected by the process owner. Thermal treatment compatibility should be verified in the customer’s matrix because color and Maillard reaction risk may increase in high-sugar, high-heat media.
Quality and Documentation
ArtemisYeast supplies ART-YD-016 for inquiry-only B2B procurement with lot traceability and bulk quote on request via request quote. Each shipment can be supported with a certificate of analysis covering appearance, moisture, nitrogen or protein equivalent, ash, pH, particle size, and agreed microbiological parameters. Additional documents may include specification sheet, SDS, allergen statement, non-GMO statement where applicable, origin statement, and food-grade or bioprocess-use declaration.
Manufacturing and packing are managed under HACCP-aligned and ISO 22000 or FSSC 22000-style food safety systems where documentation is available on request; Halal and Kosher documentation may be available depending on the production site and lot. ArtemisYeast can coordinate pre-shipment samples, retained sample policy, container loading photos, pallet configuration, and export documentation for international buyers. Quality teams can review our approach at quality and documentation before placing a trial or production order.
