Selenium-Enriched Yeast
Selenium-enriched yeast is an inactive Saccharomyces cerevisiae ingredient containing organically bound selenium, principally selenomethionine, for supplement manufacturing. ART-NY-077 is supplied as a free-flowing nutritional yeast powder in 10 kg foil-lined sacks for vegan, plant-based, tablet, capsule, and powder blend applications. ArtemisYeast supports B2B buyers with specification review, lot documentation, and wholesale pricing on request for international bulk supply.

Overview
ART-NY-077 is produced by cultivating food-grade yeast in a controlled selenium-containing medium, then inactivating, drying, and milling the biomass. During fermentation, selenium is incorporated into yeast proteins and amino acid fractions, creating an organic selenium matrix typically standardized by total selenium content and selenomethionine ratio. Typical commercial specifications may include total selenium at 1,000 to 2,500 mg/kg, selenomethionine as not less than 60% of total selenium, moisture not more than 6%, protein 40% to 50%, ash not more than 10%, and 80 mesh pass as agreed by purchase specification.
This product is intended for further processing by supplement brands, contract manufacturers, premix companies, and plant-based nutrition formulators. It is inactive yeast, not a leavening or live culture ingredient. For related inactive yeast ingredients, see the nutritional yeast category.
Applications
- Dietary supplement tablets: used as a standardized organic selenium input for direct compression blends, granulation systems, and mineral-premix tablets.
- Hard capsules: suitable for capsule fill blends where controlled selenium assay, powder flow, and uniform distribution are required.
- Powdered nutrition blends: incorporated into sachets, drink powders, vegan nutrition mixes, and plant-based formulations requiring yeast-derived selenium.
- Contract manufacturing: supplied with lot-specific documentation to support incoming QC, formula calculations, and finished product label development by the buyer.
- R&D and scale-up: evaluation samples and production-lot alignment can be arranged; submit a bulk quote on request with target selenium strength, package size, and destination port.
Storage and Handling
Store unopened sacks in a cool, dry, odor-free warehouse, ideally below 25°C and away from direct sunlight, steam lines, and high-humidity processing areas. Keep packaging sealed after partial use and use clean, dry handling tools to avoid moisture pickup and cross-contact with strong flavors or allergens handled on site. Typical shelf life is 24 months from production date when stored in original, unopened packaging under recommended conditions. This powder is hygroscopic enough to require normal dry blending controls; sieving or pre-blending with a carrier may improve dispersion in low-dose mineral premixes.
Quality and Documentation
Each commercial lot can be supplied with a Certificate of Analysis showing selenium assay, moisture, appearance, microbiological indicators, and agreed physical parameters. Typical microbiological limits may include total plate count not more than 10,000 CFU/g, yeast and mold not more than 100 CFU/g, coliforms negative, and absence of Salmonella in 25 g, subject to the final purchase specification. Heavy metals, residual solvents, allergen status, non-GMO statement, vegan suitability, and food-grade declaration can be provided where applicable.
Manufacturing and packing documentation may reference HACCP-aligned controls, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, Halal, or Kosher documentation when available for the selected production lot and origin. Buyers can review the ArtemisYeast quality and documentation process before purchase order placement.
