Overview

ART-EN-013 pectinase is a dry industrial enzyme blend designed for processing fruits, vegetables, cereal-adjacent materials, and other pectin-containing substrates. The active enzyme system typically includes pectin-depolymerizing activities such as polygalacturonase, pectin lyase, and related side activities, depending on the production lot and application target. By cleaving pectin structures in cell walls and middle lamella, the enzyme can reduce mash viscosity, increase liquid release, improve clarification performance, and support more predictable downstream separation.

The product is supplied as a free-flowing beige to light-brown powder in a 25 kg multi-wall sack. Typical commercial specifications may include moisture not more than 8%, activity declared in U/g on the certificate of analysis, and particle size suitable for dry dosing or pre-dispersion in process water; final specifications are confirmed by lot. It is not a live yeast ingredient, so CFU/g potency specifications used for active dry yeast do not apply. For adjacent processing aids, see our enzymes and fermentation category or submit a bulk quote on request.

Applications

  • Fruit and vegetable processing: used in mash maceration, juice extraction, puree viscosity reduction, clarification support, and higher-throughput filtration where pectin causes cloud, gel formation, or slow drainage.
  • Brewing and fermented beverages: suitable for fruit beer, cider-style processing, wine-adjacent trials, and botanical fermentations where pectin-rich adjuncts can affect haze, yield, and tank turnaround.
  • Industrial baking supply chains: supports fruit prep, jam, filling, and puree operations supplying bakeries; it can help standardize pumpability and solids release before thermal processing.
  • Animal feed processing: used in plant-based feed ingredient preparation to reduce pectin-related viscosity and support nutrient release in formulated livestock and poultry feed systems, subject to local regulatory suitability.
  • Biotechnology processing: applicable in plant biomass extraction, fermentation feedstock preparation, and pilot-scale R&D where pectin breakdown improves mixing, clarification, or solids-liquid separation.

Storage and Handling

Store ART-EN-013 in the original sealed 25 kg sack in a cool, dry, well-ventilated warehouse, away from direct sunlight, condensation, strong odors, and alkaline chemicals. Recommended storage is below 25 °C with relative humidity controlled where possible. Under unopened, dry storage, typical shelf life is 12 to 18 months, subject to the lot label and activity-retention data. After opening, reseal promptly and use a first-in, first-out inventory system.

For dosing, pre-blend into dry carriers or disperse in clean process water before addition to the substrate. Avoid dust generation and use appropriate plant PPE for enzyme powders, including eye protection and respiratory controls where local risk assessment requires them. Excessive heat, high pH, and prolonged exposure to moisture can reduce activity.

Quality and Documentation

ArtemisYeast supports procurement teams with lot traceability, specification review, and export documentation for international bulk shipments. A certificate of analysis can state appearance, activity, moisture, microbiological limits, and packaging details when applicable. Food-grade declaration, allergen statement, non-GMO statement, Halal, Kosher, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, and HACCP-aligned documentation may be available on request depending on production site and lot; buyers should verify required documents before order confirmation.

For vendor approval, ArtemisYeast can provide technical data sheets, safety data sheets, packing information, and shelf-life guidance through our quality documentation process. Finished-product suitability, label status, and processing-aid classification should be confirmed by the buyer for the target country, substrate, and end-use category.

Storage & Handling

Refer to the CoA for product-specific storage conditions. Ship cold-chain where required.

Quality & Documentation

Manufactured under ISO-aligned quality management systems. Full documentation — Certificate of Analysis (CoA), Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), formulation summary, and stability data — is available on request. Email info@artemisyeast.com with the SKU.
