Feed-Grade Animal Prebiotics
Feed-grade animal prebiotics are yeast-derived functional feed ingredients used to support balanced nutrition programs for livestock, poultry, ruminants, swine, and aquaculture. ArtemisYeast supplies ART-AN-018 for premixers, feed mills, integrators, and distributors requiring consistent bulk material in 25 kg woven polypropylene feed sacks. This product is inquiry-only, with wholesale pricing on request. For adjacent yeast nutrition materials, see our animal nutrition yeast category.

Overview
ART-AN-018 is a feed-grade prebiotic ingredient based on selected yeast fractions and cell wall components for use in compound feed, concentrates, premixes, and farm nutrition programs. The product is designed for formulation teams that need a dry, free-flowing feed additive with practical handling characteristics and traceable batch documentation. Typical analytical targets may include moisture not more than 8.0%, crude protein 20-35% depending on production lot, beta-glucan 20-35%, mannan oligosaccharides 15-30%, and ash not more than 8.0%. Final values are controlled by the certificate of analysis for each batch.
The ingredient is suitable where nutritionists want yeast-based non-digestible carbohydrate fractions that interact with the feed matrix and normal gut environment. It can be incorporated into pelleted, crumbled, mash, or extruded feeds, subject to the customer's own validation of heat profile and process conditions. Particle size is typically specified for feed blending, with common options around 40-80 mesh or as agreed for contracted supply. For new programs, ArtemisYeast can provide technical discussion and a bulk quote on request based on destination, packaging, volume, and documentation needs.
Applications
- Livestock and ruminant feed: use in dairy, beef, sheep, and goat rations where yeast-derived prebiotic fractions are included as part of a balanced ration strategy.
- Poultry feed: suitable for broiler, layer, breeder, and turkey formulations, including premix or complete feed addition where dry blending uniformity is required.
- Swine feed: used in starter, grower, finisher, and sow feed systems, with inclusion rates determined by the nutritionist according to formulation objectives and local rules.
- Aquaculture feed: applicable in fish and shrimp feed where yeast fractions are used in extruded or coated feed formats after customer process validation.
- Premix and additive manufacturing: compatible with vitamin-mineral premixes, carrier systems, and multi-ingredient functional feed packages when flowability, moisture control, and lot traceability are important.
Storage and Handling
Supply format is a 25 kg woven polypropylene feed sack with inner liner or equivalent export packing as agreed in the purchase specification. Store unopened bags in a cool, dry, well-ventilated warehouse, protected from rain, condensation, direct sunlight, pests, and strong odors. Recommended storage is below 25°C and below 65% relative humidity where possible. Under suitable conditions, typical shelf life is 18-24 months from manufacture, subject to the batch CoA and local storage conditions.
Because yeast prebiotic powders are hygroscopic, reseal opened bags promptly and avoid prolonged exposure to humid air. Use clean conveying, weighing, and mixing equipment to reduce cross-contact risk. For pelleting or extrusion, validate retention of target analytical markers under plant-specific steam, pressure, residence time, and cooling conditions. Operators should follow standard feed mill dust-control practices, including local ventilation and appropriate personal protective equipment.
Quality and Documentation
ArtemisYeast supplies ART-AN-018 for professional feed use with lot-based traceability and specification review before shipment. A certificate of analysis can include appearance, moisture, protein, ash, beta-glucan, mannan oligosaccharides, particle size, and microbiological indicators such as total plate count, yeast and mold, coliforms, and absence of Salmonella in the tested sample. Heavy metals, dioxins, and other regional feed compliance items can be discussed for contracted programs.
Manufacturing documentation may include HACCP-aligned controls, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, Halal, Kosher, feed-grade declaration, allergen statement, non-GMO statement, safety data sheet, and country-of-origin documents where available and applicable to the shipment. Availability depends on production site, destination, and regulatory scope. Procurement teams can review our quality documentation approach or request a specification pack before placing a bulk inquiry.
Storage & Handling
