Selenium Yeast for Animal Feed
Selenium yeast is an inactivated, selenium-enriched yeast ingredient used as an organic selenium source in livestock, poultry, swine, ruminant, and aquaculture feed. ArtemisYeast supplies ART-AN-023 in 25 kg woven polypropylene feed sacks for premix manufacturers, integrated feed mills, and nutrition formulators requiring consistent selenium concentration and traceable export documentation. Wholesale availability is inquiry-only, with wholesale pricing on request based on grade, destination, order volume, and documentation requirements.

Overview
ART-AN-023 selenium yeast is produced by cultivating selected yeast with selenium under controlled fermentation, followed by drying and milling for use in animal nutrition formulations. The material is intended for feed and premix applications where an organic selenium ingredient is specified instead of, or alongside, inorganic selenium sources. It is an inactivated yeast ingredient, not a live probiotic culture, and is designed for controlled inclusion by qualified feed formulators.
Typical commercial specifications may include total selenium around 2,000 mg/kg, selenium in organic form not less than 98% of total selenium, moisture not more than 8.0%, crude protein not less than 40%, and particle size with not less than 95% passing 40 mesh. Final specifications are confirmed on the product quotation and Certificate of Analysis. For adjacent feed-yeast ingredients, see our animal nutrition yeast category.
Applications
- Livestock and ruminant feed: used in mineral premixes, concentrates, and total mixed ration programs where formulated selenium targets require a yeast-bound selenium source.
- Poultry nutrition: suitable for broiler, layer, breeder, and turkey feed premixes where even distribution, assay consistency, and low inclusion precision are important.
- Swine feed: applied in sow, nursery, and grow-finish diets through vitamin-mineral premixes, basemixes, and compound feed production lines.
- Aquaculture feed: used in extruded or pelleted aquatic feed formulas when nutrition teams specify an organic trace-mineral source compatible with dry blending and feed processing.
- Premix manufacturing: supplied for facilities that require controlled lot traceability, standardized packing, and documentation for cross-border feed ingredient procurement.
Storage and Handling
Store unopened sacks in a cool, dry, well-ventilated warehouse away from direct sunlight, condensation, strong odors, and oxidizing materials. Recommended storage temperature is below 25 °C with relative humidity below 65% where practical. Under recommended conditions, typical shelf life is up to 24 months from production date, subject to the confirmed lot specification and local feed regulations.
Because selenium ingredients are used at low inclusion rates, accurate weighing and validated mixing are essential. Avoid dust generation during charging and use appropriate plant hygiene controls, local PPE rules, and segregation from human food ingredients. Opened sacks should be resealed promptly and used as soon as practical. For procurement and lead-time planning, submit requirements through request a bulk quote.
Quality and Documentation
ART-AN-023 is supplied for feed use with lot-based quality documentation available on request. A typical documentation package may include Certificate of Analysis, product specification, safety data sheet, feed-grade declaration, allergen or non-animal-origin statement where applicable, packing list, and export documents aligned with the destination market. Available test parameters may include selenium assay, moisture, protein, ash, microbiology, heavy metals, and particle-size distribution.
Manufacturing and supplier controls are managed under feed-ingredient quality procedures with HACCP-aligned documentation. ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, Halal, Kosher, or other third-party documents may be available depending on the production lot and contracting basis; confirm requirements before order placement.
