Viscosity Reducing Enzyme

SKU: ART-EN-012 · Size: 25 kg multi-wall sack

Viscosity reducing enzyme is a processing enzyme preparation used to lower the apparent viscosity of cereal, starch, and plant-fiber slurries during food, feed, brewing, and fermentation operations. ART-EN-016 is supplied for industrial users that need improved pumpability, filtration, mixing uniformity, and solids handling without changing core process identity. It is available in 25 kg multi-wall sacks, with wholesale pricing on request through the bulk inquiry form.

Overview

ART-EN-016 is an industrial viscosity reducing enzyme for process streams containing soluble and insoluble polysaccharides such as arabinoxylans, beta-glucans, cellulose fragments, hemicellulose, and residual cereal gums. Depending on the confirmed grade and application target, the active profile may include xylanase, beta-glucanase, cellulase, or related carbohydrase activities selected to reduce molecular weight and slurry thickness. The product is intended for controlled processing use, not as a live yeast product; CFU/g is not applicable.

Typical commercial parameters for specification review include powder or microgranule appearance, light tan to brown color, moisture ≤8.0%, food- or feed-compatible carrier, and practical particle distribution in the 20-80 mesh range unless otherwise agreed. Activity units, pH range, thermal tolerance, and dosage recommendations are confirmed by lot documentation and application trial data. Common process windows are pH 4.5-6.5 and 35-60°C, with short exposure to higher temperatures depending on residence time. For adjacent products, see our enzymes and fermentation category.

Applications

  • Industrial baking: used in wheat, rye, and multigrain dough systems where pentosans and fiber fractions increase water binding and mixing resistance. It can support more consistent dough handling, divider flow, and line stability when validated by bakery trials.
  • Brewing and distilling: applied to cereal mashes, adjunct grists, lautering operations, and high-beta-glucan raw materials to improve wort run-off, reduce mash thickness, and assist filtration. Head brewers should confirm dosage against malt quality, mash schedule, and target beer profile.
  • Animal feed processing: used in mash feed, pelleted feed, and liquid feed preparation where cereal non-starch polysaccharides affect viscosity and mixing. Feed nutritionists can request feed-grade documentation and activity declaration for ration formulation control.
  • Food manufacturing: suitable for grain-based beverages, plant ingredient extraction, sauce bases, and fiber-rich slurries where lower viscosity can improve pumping, heat transfer, homogenization, and solids separation.
  • Biotechnology and fermentation plants: used in carbohydrate-rich upstream process materials to reduce broth or substrate viscosity before yeast fermentation, centrifugation, membrane separation, or evaporation. Compatibility should be checked for pH, temperature, salts, preservatives, and downstream inactivation requirements.

Storage and Handling

ART-EN-016 is packed in 25 kg multi-wall sacks with inner liner protection. Store sealed in a cool, dry warehouse, ideally below 25°C and away from direct sunlight, high humidity, strong odors, oxidizers, and steam lines. Under recommended storage, typical shelf life is 12 months from manufacture; extended dating may be considered only after retained-sample or lot recheck.

Reseal opened sacks promptly and avoid condensation during transfer from cold to warm environments. Enzyme powders can generate dust; operators should use local exhaust, gloves, protective eyewear, and respiratory protection where dust exposure is possible. Prepare premixes carefully to avoid localized overdosing. For thermal inactivation, use the validated time-temperature step appropriate to the process and enzyme activity profile.

Quality and Documentation

Each commercial lot is supplied against an agreed specification covering product name, ART-EN-016 SKU reference, activity declaration, appearance, moisture, packaging, manufacturing date, shelf life, and microbiological or heavy-metal limits where applicable. Certificate of Analysis, SDS, allergen statement, GMO status statement, food-grade or feed-grade declaration, and country-of-origin documentation are available on request. HACCP-aligned manufacturing information and ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, Halal, or Kosher documentation can be reviewed when available for the selected grade and production site.

Procurement teams should provide application, target substrate, process pH, temperature profile, residence time, annual volume, delivery country, and any import registration requirements. ArtemisYeast can coordinate technical specification review, sample availability, and quality documentation before purchase order release. For commercial planning, request a bulk quote on request; public price lists are not issued.
