Overview
ART-AN-100 is a feed-grade yeast extract produced from selected yeast biomass through controlled autolysis and separation to concentrate soluble yeast components. The ingredient is not a live probiotic; it is an inactive extract containing soluble peptides, free amino acids, yeast nucleotides, B-complex nutrients naturally present in yeast, and fermentation-derived savory compounds. This profile makes it suitable for dry feed, pellet, crumble, premix, and liquid feed applications where formulators require consistent taste contribution, digestible nitrogen, and low-dust handling.
Typical specification targets include moisture not more than 6.0%, crude protein 55.0-65.0% on an as-is basis, total nitrogen not less than 8.5%, amino nitrogen 3.0-5.5%, ash 8.0-15.0%, and pH 5.0-7.0 in a 10% solution. Particle size is commonly 60-100 mesh, with light tan to brown powder appearance and characteristic yeast odor. The final specification can be aligned to contract requirements, including lower-salt or high-solubility profiles where available. For related feed yeast materials, see our animal nutrition yeast category.
Applications
- Swine feeds: Used in creep feed, nursery diets, and grower-finisher formulations where feed intake, savory note, and consistent nitrogen contribution are important procurement criteria.
- Poultry feeds: Applied in broiler, layer, breeder, and specialty poultry rations as a yeast-derived flavor and peptide source compatible with mash, pellet, and crumble systems.
- Ruminant nutrition: Suitable for calf starters, dairy supplements, mineral premixes, and total mixed ration additives when an inactive, soluble yeast fraction is preferred over live yeast.
- Aquaculture feeds: Used in shrimp, fish, and hatchery feed concepts to contribute soluble yeast components and improve overall feed acceptance in extruded or microbound products.
- Pet and specialty feed: Can be evaluated in palatant systems, functional premixes, and clean-label yeast-based formulations where animal-origin flavor materials are being reduced.
- Premix and feed additive manufacturing: Blends readily with carriers, minerals, vitamins, acidifiers, botanicals, and other dry ingredients. Request formulation-support data through our bulk quote form.
Storage and Handling
Store ART-AN-100 in its original 25 kg woven polypropylene feed sack in a cool, dry, odor-free warehouse. Recommended storage conditions are below 25°C and below 65% relative humidity, away from direct sunlight, condensation, and incompatible aromatic materials. Under recommended conditions, typical shelf life is 18-24 months from the manufacturing date, subject to the final certificate of analysis.
Keep bags closed when not in use to limit moisture pickup and caking. Use standard dry powder handling controls, including local dust extraction, grounded conveying equipment, and appropriate respiratory protection where airborne dust may be generated. The ingredient is heat stable for common pelleting and extrusion conditions, although excessive dwell time or high moisture may darken color or change aroma.
Quality and Documentation
ArtemisYeast supplies ART-AN-100 against agreed feed-grade specifications, with lot traceability from production batch through export documentation. A certificate of analysis can report moisture, crude protein, ash, pH, appearance, odor, particle size, and microbiological parameters such as total plate count, yeast and mold, coliforms, and absence testing for relevant pathogens according to the agreed method. Heavy metal, mycotoxin, melamine, dioxin, and pesticide-residue panels can be arranged for qualified bulk inquiries where required by destination market or customer protocol.
Manufacturing is managed under HACCP-aligned and ISO-style quality systems, and documentation for HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, Halal, Kosher, feed-grade declaration, allergen statement, non-GMO position, and material safety information may be available on request depending on the producing site and lot. Review current documentation through our quality and documentation page before purchase approval.
